Alfred Newton & Co was established in 1933.
Alfred Newton Solicitors has always been a traditional family firm with traditional values. By this we mean that we do care about our clients, we do get to know our clients and we talk to them. In short we have time for our clients. We are a local firm having been in the same office at our Stockport address and on the same telephone number since 1933. The firm has expanded over the years and has a wealth of experience in a wide number of legal areas. Our solicitors are here to ensure you receive expert legal advice on all of your problems with a personal service.
Alfred Newton Solicitors has three branches, Stockport established 1933, Wilmslow 1933 and Bredbury 1983. Bredbury is our youngest office but has been open for over 25 years. Our office in Wilmslow opened in 1933 and although we did move address once we have been at our present accommodation for over 40 years. In the 1980’s the firm of Davies and Jackson, which had been founded in the 1880’s joined us, and in 2000 we were also joined by the Stockport firm of Olliers who were founded in 1963. Anthony Penman is only the fourth Senior Partner since the practice was founded which indicates the stability, experience and well established nature of the firm.
Whilst embracing modern technology, Alfred Newton Solicitors also has the benefit of a great depth of experience based on the long history of the practice. We are a firm who actually has a full time receptionist that answers the phone; we do not hide from our clients behind an answer phone, that device is only used when we are closed at lunch time, evening and weekends. If you instruct us you know that you can not only telephone us to see what is going on but call in to check the progress and discuss any aspect of matters with us.
